Salt is beneficial to both preserve and season food. Do you bring the same benefits to your circle of influence? Do you "season" your conversations, your relationships, your interactions, with the truth and grace of Jesus? Are you able to "preserve" truth when Christ is discussed around you?
Additionally, believers are to be a light for the world, not to be hidden, but to give light to everyone around them. You shouldn't hide your "light" by saying your relationship with Christ is private. How does that thinking line up with Christ's words here? Shine the light of Christ to those around you in your undeniable good deeds!
