The Lord’s Prayer

DAY 5 OF 5

Walk in Grace, Freedom, and Faith

Prayer is more than words—it’s a posture of the heart. When we come before God, we’re invited to be honest, to confess where we’ve fallen short, and to receive His grace with open hands. He doesn’t meet us with condemnation, but with forgiveness that sets us free.

As we receive His grace, we’re also called to extend it. Forgiveness isn’t always easy, but it reflects the heart of the Father. When we let go of bitterness, we create space for healing and peace.

God also invites us to ask for protection—not just from physical harm, but from the spiritual battles we often overlook. Life is filled with unseen struggles, but we’re not left defenseless. God is our protector, our strength, and our shield.

This kind of prayer isn’t wishful thinking. It’s rooted in confidence. Every line leads to this bold declaration: “Yours is the kingdom.” We pray not with uncertainty, but with assurance—because we know who holds the power and the victory.

Respond to God’s Word:

Take a moment to confess anything weighing on your heart, forgive someone who’s hurt you, ask God for protection—and end by praising Him for who He is and what He’s already won.

A home of prayer is a home full of faith, hope, and love. My wife and I have five children, and often the rhythms of life are distracting and get in the way of being intentional with prayer. What’s helped a great deal in our home is that every week we have a one-page guide that gives us a Bible verse, a worship song, seven questions for each day of the week to spark a short conversation with our family, and a short prayer to go through together. Something that only takes about 25 minutes a day has helped us be intentional about the precious time we have with our family. About this Plan

The Lord’s Prayer

Sometimes we don’t think we can learn anything else from something in particular because we’re so familiar with it. The disciples of Jesus were familiar with prayer. They must have heard countless people pray in their life. But when they saw Jesus praying, they were teachable enough to ask him, “Lord, teach us to pray.” Sometimes thinking you have it all figured out will keep you from truly figuring it out. Step into this prayer with a receptive heart and see how God brings you to a fuller understanding of His teaching.
