God Chose MeSample

LIVE UNSTOPPABLE
Before we finish these devotionals, I have an announcement: If you decide to be courageous enough to believe that God chose you and to accept the role He has designed for you, you are not safe.
If you think about it, this makes sense if we are following in Jesus’s footsteps. After all, Jesus Himself did not live safe. He spent three years of ministry traveling to neighboring towns, stirring the pot. He wasn’t a troublemaker, but He felt compelled to challenge the unhealthy religiosity of those in charge. And then He was murdered for His message, and over time many of His closest friends were murdered for the same belief.
Our savior is not safe, nor is the life He calls us to live. I mean, Jesus asked one of His best friends to step out of a boat and into a hurricane on the sea! How can we read these kinds of stories and expect that what He asks us to do would involve no risk? He is on record for calling His followers to “take up their cross and follow [Him]” (Matthew 16:24).
Actually, this is the track record of God. Every other page of the Bible, it seems, features some ridiculously under-qualified individual being asked to do some ridiculously imposing thing.God has constantly called His people out of safety, out of security. Out of the shadows and the boxes we create to protect ourselves.
Scary? Sure. But our fear can be converted to certainty.
When you truly believe that you have been chosen by God, there is a security that envelops your soul and begins to ignite a trust in Him that does not look for the safest route. You stand up in the face of doubt and insecurity, and you declare, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
Here and now, God, I declare: I will not live shy, scared, and safe. I will expect You to show up, and I will look for You to bring the “impossible.”
