There’s no denying that our lives are not always a picnic. There is so much in this world that feels almost as if it’s working against us—wars we can’t control, layoffs that have nothing to do with the work we produce, family tensions that won’t go away no matter how hard we try. It would be easy to look around and think, “Is this really it? Is this all that life has to offer?” And for many people, what they see before them is all there is. But for those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ, we know that the things around us can’t hold a candle to the future that is waiting for us. That we were created for more than this. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we won’t have to deal with our own difficult situations or tough life scenarios. But it does mean that when the storms of life come our way, we can remind ourselves of what lies just beyond the other side—a promise of an eternity spent with our Savior in a place where we will never encounter storms again.

Today, take a moment to write this Scripture down somewhere you’ll see it often—either as a note on your phone, on a card in your wallet, or maybe taped up by your front door. As you read it, remind yourself that no matter what happens today, nothing can compare to the future you have waiting for you with Jesus.
