God Is Writing Your Story

DAY 3 OF 7

The Painstaking, Courage-Building, Waiting

Sometimes, life leaves us waiting or doubting. But what do we do in the waiting? We trust. We trust in the midst of doubt and uncertainty. We trust in our faithful and loving God. And when our path seems dark, we rely on the light of Christ that has always been guiding our path. When you are in the unknown and don’t know where to turn or what step to take, keep your eyes up and gaze fixed upon Christ. Do not be concerned about what you don’t know, but move forward with confidence in the God who has already written your story.

Waiting seasons force us to stay. And sometimes, staying causes us to grapple with the reality of our present situation. If you are waiting for a breakthrough, a miracle, or deliverance, simply waiting can feel disheartening. What transforms the grappling into seeing Him in glory? It is our perspective. So what do you do while you wait? One word: abide. Abiding is simply making space to live in union with the King of Kings in the midst of disappointments or fears. When you abide with Him, He shares His thoughts and ways with you. When you create space, you grab onto something greater: HIS presence. HIS truth. HIS strength. HIS wisdom. HIS courage. HIS peace. HIS joy!

Even in impossible situations, when it feels overwhelming, and our eyes don’t see any change coming our way, consider being led by His Spirit to presence-centered moments. It is in the waiting that the enemy will try to convince you that your situation is too hard and that God won’t deliver. Don’t believe it. Lying to us is the only trick up his sleeve.

So, if you find yourself in the waiting and battling with disappointment, fear, or worry, don’t be disheartened. It is not for nothing. Don’t let discouragement creep in while you wait on the Lord. Rather, with an obedient and humble heart, allow the Lord to continue to mold each intentional season into a greater story that brings beauty by being still before our Savior.
