EquipHer Vol. 16: "Living the Vision"

DAY 1 OF 5

Day 1 – Ask The Right Question

"Your vision bridges the gap between where you are and where God wants to take you." – Melanie Cox

Sometimes, we feel overwhelmed by the uncertainty of the future. We wonder if our lives truly have a clear direction, if we are making the right choices, or if we are merely being carried along by circumstances. If you have ever felt this way, know that you are not alone. Many of us seek answers, but often, we start with the wrong question.

Melanie Cox, one of our EquipHer 2025 speakers, challenged our perspective regarding the vision we hold for our lives: vision is not something we create on our own; it is something we receive from God. We often ask ourselves, "What do I want to do with my life?" But this question is based on the wrong premise. The real question we should be asking is, "What does God want from me?"

The Bible makes it clear: God has a plan for each of us. We are not a product of chance but of divine design. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are "created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."

Living according to this truth means recognizing that our lives are not random, but that God created us intentionally, with a specific purpose. Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you." This means our existence is part of a divine plan that goes beyond our personal desires.

But simply knowing that God has a plan is not enough. We must walk in it, trusting His guidance even when we cannot clearly see the next step. Isaiah 30:21 promises, "And whenever you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: 'This is the way. Walk in it.'” The Lord leads us with His voice, but it is up to us to seek His guidance, listen to His direction, and follow it.

Practical Tip: practice listening to the Holy Spirit’s guidance in your decisions: before making any choice, pause and pray, asking God to lead you and give you clear confirmation of His will for you.

Prayer: Lord, I want to walk in the plans You have for me. Open my spiritual eyes and teach me to discern Your will. Help me not to live according to my own desires but to walk in the path You have set before me. Today, I choose to trust You and allow the Holy Spirit to lead me. Amen.

About this Plan

EquipHer Vol. 16: "Living the Vision"

God did not create us to live without direction but to walk with a clear vision and a precise purpose. In this devotional, we will explore how to discern God's will, translate it into concrete steps, and align ourselves with His vision—remembering that every act of obedience bears fruit, not just for our personal benefit, but also for the advancement of His Kingdom.
