Earth, hear the trumpets, and tremble! Hail and fire mixed with blood are hurled down on you. A huge mountain falls into your sea and one-third of it is turned into blood. Your living creatures die, and your ships are destroyed. Your waters are bitter, your light turns into darkness. "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth!" The Abyss is open, the sun and sky are darkened and locusts like scorpions invade to torture those who don't have the seal of God on their foreheads. Abaddon, the Destroyer is their king. Four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year are released to kill a third of mankind.

Two-thirds are still spared.

Yet.

The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshipping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood – idols that cannot see or hear or walk.

Take a moment to ponder on what you've read and respond to God in prayer.

PRAYER

• Pray for people in bondage.
• Pray against alcoholism and drug addiction, pornography, addiction to the internet, gambling, social media, and video game addiction.
• Pray for the young generation who is the most vulnerable to the influence of media and the internet.
• Pray for children at risk.
• Pray against human trafficking.
• Pray for a transformational impact of Christians in the communities where they live.
