Prayer Initiative : Revelation

DAY 11 OF 21

We are in Jerusalem now. Two new characters appear on the stage. They are dressed in sackcloth, but don't be deceived by their modest clothing. They have the power to shut the heavens. Their nicknames are "olive trees" and "lampstands" as they stand before the Lord of the Earth. They stand because they are not afraid to testify about God.

These two witnesses will prophesy for 1,260 days and nobody will be able to bring them any harm until they finish their testimony. Then the beast from the Abyss will attack them and kill them and the inhabitants of the earth will celebrate sending gifts to each other. Their bodies will lie in the public square for three days in the same city where their Lord was crucified. But, just as their Lord, they will be resurrected and stand again on their feet, and they will go up to heaven in a cloud, just as Jesus went.

At that very hour, a severe earthquake brought down a tenth of the city. Seven thousand people died. Finally, the survivors were terrified and gave glory to God in heaven.

Take a moment to ponder on what you've read and respond to God in prayer.

PRAYER

  • Pray for a powerful testimony of the Church to the world.
  • Pray for Christians to be in the world but not of the world.
  • Pray for strong churches that cling to the truth of Scripture and do not accept compromise.
  • Pray against the deceitful messages of Satan that things related to God need to be kept private.
  • Pray for your church to be passionate about the Lord and the Gospel.
  • Pray for your disciples’ testimony.
  • Pray for your testimony as well.

About this Plan

Prayer Initiative : Revelation

Welcome to the 21 days of prayer initiative! This prayer guide is not meant to give a thorough exegesis of Revelation. Rather, it is a prompting to draw you closer to God. Consider His majesty, recognize His justice, and bow in awe before the King of kings and Lord of lords.
