The Courage to Speak: A Journey in the Book of Esther

DAY 2 OF 3

"...and who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14b)

Consider this for a moment: Esther, a beautiful young Jew, walking down the halls of the Persian palace as Queen. She wasn’t just operating in a title—she was balancing two uniquely different worlds.

One world gave her a crown; the other gave her an identity.

One offered her comfort; the other called her to be courageous.

Mordecai’s plea changed Esther’s world as she knew it. When we read Esther 4:10-17, we learn that she had to quickly realize her purpose in the palace. The palace wasn’t just her home; it was now her mission field.

Similarly, when God positions us for purpose, He often places us in spaces where our faith will be tested. The positions of influence He has given you aren’t just privileges but platforms. Think about where God has placed you—in your workplace, your community, your family. These aren’t random placements; they’re divine appointments.

Just like Esther, you might be the only one positioned to speak God’s truth in that space. The question isn’t whether you have influence; it’s how you’ll use the influence you’ve been given. Every position of influence comes with divine responsibility and the opportunity to demonstrate God’s love and truth to those around you.

Esther had to learn that her crown wasn’t just for her comfort; it was for her calling and the same is true for us. Sometimes, the very position that brings us worldly security becomes the platform where God asks us to risk it all for his glory. What might that look like for you?

Pause and Ponder: Is God repositioning you or asking you to step outside of your comfort zone? If so, how have you responded?
