Sorry Not Sorry

DAY 7 OF 15

Grace is a concept that isn’t always the easiest to grasp. The idea of showing so much love and understanding toward someone else, even and especially when they don’t necessarily deserve it, feels a bit beyond what a normal person can do. Debts should always be paid. Wrongs should always be made right. The right outcome should always be clear, no matter the circumstances. But when we are the ones in debt—when we find ourselves in the wrong—grace provides us a glimmer of hope. Grace reminds us that while we don’t always deserve forgiveness or understanding, it can be given. And who is the ultimate giver of grace? As believers, we know this to be Jesus Christ, the One who unfairly took on all our debts to present us as blameless to the Father. Knowing what a huge sacrifice was made on our behalf, the idea of even giving a small measure of grace toward others should be simple. But things rarely are simple, which is why we need the Spirit’s help to get there!

This week, what would it look like to actively choose grace in every situation? To look past our daily frustrations and anger and recognize the humanity in those who have done something against us? Ask God’s Spirit to help you do just that as you go through life this week.

About this Plan

Sorry Not Sorry

Forgiveness feels like something that we know we should do, but it isn’t always something we actually do. We all sometimes find it hard to live out forgiveness in our everyday lives. It’s hard to find a way to let go, but what if there is a way to let go and forgive? In this devotional, we’ll look at the way forgiveness can work in our lives to move us toward freedom for ourselves and others.
