We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to GodSample
Day 71 of 365
In Leviticus 16, the Day of Atonement reveals the seriousness of sin and the need for cleansing. The high priest enters the Holy of Holies with sacrificial blood, making atonement for Israel’s sins. This points to Jesus, our eternal High Priest, whose sacrifice has removed the barrier between God and us. The Holy Spirit reveals the weight and beauty of this atonement, drawing us to live lives marked by reverence and gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice.
In Mark 8, Jesus tells His disciples, “Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross.” The Spirit empowers us to live out this call, guiding us to let go of self-centered pursuits and embrace a life surrendered to God.
Today, ask the Spirit to deepen your gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice. Let Him help you take up your cross with courage, living each day as a response to the unfathomable love God has shown.
