We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to GodSample
Day 136 of 365
In 2 Samuel 16-18, David faces betrayal and hardship as he is forced to flee Jerusalem due to Absalom’s rebellion. Amid these painful circumstances, David does not retaliate; instead, he chooses to trust in God’s justice. The Holy Spirit calls us to have this same trust, relinquishing our need to seek revenge or control outcomes. When we lean into God’s sovereignty, we find peace even in times of betrayal and disappointment.
In John 5, Jesus speaks of the authority given to Him by the Father to judge and give life. He assures us that God’s justice is perfect and His timing flawless. The Spirit teaches us to release our grievances and entrust our lives to God, knowing He will bring justice in His way and time. Our role is to remain faithful, seeking God’s presence rather than vengeance.
Today, invite the Holy Spirit to help you release any desire for control or retaliation. Surrender your struggles to God, trusting that His justice will prevail and that He will act in perfect wisdom. Allow His peace to fill you, confident that His hand is at work in every circumstance.
