In Psalm 64 and Psalm 70, David calls out to God in moments of fear and danger, trusting that God is his defender. His words reveal a deep confidence that God hears him and will act on his behalf. The Holy Spirit invites us to find this same refuge in God’s presence, trusting that He is near and actively protecting us, even when we cannot see the outcome.

In John 6, Jesus performs the miracle of walking on water, showing His authority over the forces of nature. As He approaches the disciples, He reassures them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” The Spirit reminds us that Jesus is with us in the midst of our storms, speaking peace into our hearts. His presence turns our fears into opportunities to witness His power.

Today, ask the Holy Spirit to calm any inner storms and to make you aware of God’s protective presence. Surrender your anxieties to Him, allowing His peace to replace your fears. Trust that, no matter the waves around you, God’s presence is the firm ground beneath your feet, holding you steady in His love.
