Sermon on the Mount: The BeatitudesSample
Day 30:
Living the Beatitudes
Seeking first the kingdom of God
As we conclude this journey through the Beatitudes, Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:33 remind us to “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Prioritizing God’s kingdom means making His purposes, will, and character the foundation of everything we do. It’s about trusting Him with our needs and aligning our lives with His values.
Seeking God’s kingdom first requires a heart entirely devoted to Him. It may involve making sacrifices, changing priorities, or living counter-culturally. But the reward is immeasurable: the deep satisfaction of knowing we are living in step with God’s plans and experiencing His provision and peace.
Let us commit to seeking God’s kingdom above all else, trusting He is faithful to care for our needs. As we do so, we participate in the beautiful work of His kingdom and experience the joy of a life centered on His eternal purposes.
Prayer focus:
Commit to prioritizing God’s kingdom in all you do.

About this Plan
The Sermon on the Mount is one of the most incredible passages of scripture in the entire Bible. It is the longest passage of Jesus speaking without interruption. The Beatitudes, or attitudes of supreme blessing, are a roadmap for our lives, teaching us to reflect the nature of Jesus Christ in every interaction. Throughout this devotional, we will spend three days on each beatitude, ending with a focus on applying the entirety of it to our daily lives.
