Sermon on the Mount: The BeatitudesSample
Day 28:
Living the Beatitudes
Reflecting on the Beatitudes in daily life
The Beatitudes are teachings to be admired and principles to be lived out in every part of our lives. Colossians 3:12-14 exhorts us, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another… And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Living out the Beatitudes means embodying these virtues and allowing God’s love to shape our actions, attitudes, and relationships.
Reflecting on the Beatitudes requires daily surrender and a heart open to the Holy Spirit’s transformation. It’s about showing mercy, pursuing purity, and being a peacemaker in small and significant ways. It means having a heart that hungers for righteousness and remaining humble, even when difficult. As we seek to live out these principles, we become more like Christ and point others to the beauty of His kingdom.
Let us pray for the grace to live a life that embodies the Beatitudes, trusting that God will use our obedience to impact the world around us.
Prayer focus:
Asking God for a life that reflects these kingdom principles in every area.

About this Plan
The Sermon on the Mount is one of the most incredible passages of scripture in the entire Bible. It is the longest passage of Jesus speaking without interruption. The Beatitudes, or attitudes of supreme blessing, are a roadmap for our lives, teaching us to reflect the nature of Jesus Christ in every interaction. Throughout this devotional, we will spend three days on each beatitude, ending with a focus on applying the entirety of it to our daily lives.
