Journey With Jesus 365

DAY 356 OF 365

How does Jesus’ lesson about losing one’s life contrast with the interests of the chief rulers and Pharisees?

Jesus’ declared that to be a follower of Him, meant surrendering one’s life in service. The chief priests discussed killing Lazarus, as his life was a testimony of Jesus’s miraculous power. One of His disciples admonished Mary for lavishing an expensive gift on Jesus, hoping to have sold and pocketed the money for himself. Jesus, the perfect sinless Son of God, entered the gates of Jerusalem on a humble donkey, not a noble stallion. While He performed many miracles, many could not believe that the Messiah would be a humble servant instead of a conquering king. So they who loved the praise of men hardened their hearts against Him.

In what ways have you surrendered your life to Jesus? Does He have priority in every aspect of your life? What expectations do you have regarding the Christian life?
