How does Jesus address the idea that there are many ways to heaven?

Jesus, in His final hours, left no room for confusion. He was clear that He was the only bridge to the Father, through which eternal life could be claimed. He also encouraged His disciples to be strong in the faith by promising believers the gift of His Holy Spirit, who would empower them to live the victorious Christian life. The disciples did not know it yet, but would all go on to endure many trials and tribulations. Many were even martyred for their faith in Jesus Christ. They rested on the promise that Jesus was the only way to salvation. They allowed the Comforter to steady their hearts until the very end.

How can you talk to someone who believes there are many ways to get to heaven? How has the Holy Spirit comforted you in times of trial? How can you be sure you will stand true to Jesus when your faith gets tested?
