Day 20: The Blessing of Waiting on God’s Timing

Focus Scripture:
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Waiting is often seen as a passive action, something we must endure until the moment of breakthrough comes. Today’s focus scripture offers a powerful reminder that waiting on the Lord is anything but passive. It is an active, purposeful surrender that leads to renewed strength. This verse paints a vivid picture: those who wait on the Lord will soar like eagles, run without growing weary, and walk without fainting. What a promise!

In our busy, fast-paced world, the idea of waiting can feel counterintuitive—especially when we’re used to rushing, striving, and seeking instant results. Yet, God's word tells us that in waiting, we find strength that can only come from Him.

We can be honest and say that waiting can often cause faith-fatigue, but in those moments, you have to rely on your history with God. In the words of Pastor Enrique, “I don’t know what You’re doing, but I know what You’ve done” This is the position we must take in order to wait on the Lord and to trust His timing. We must also avoid waiting idly. Instead, periods of waiting should push us to seek His presence, and to lean into His will. It’s not about sitting idly by, but about aligning our hearts with His purposes and being still enough to hear His voice.

In the waiting, God does something profound within us. He renews our strength in a way that nothing else can. When we rely on Him, we are equipped to face challenges with grace and endurance, knowing that His strength is sufficient for every step of the journey.
