God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 2)Sample
James – Day 4
James warns us of the dangers of being “friends with the world.” He goes as far as to say a friend of the world is an enemy of God. This is a serious statement. Does this mean we cannot have friendships with unsaved people? Certainly not!
As Christians, we’re called to go out into the world and shine the light of Christ as ministers of reconciliation. It’s our duty to be in the world, but we mustn’t allow ourselves to be influenced by it. We say we’re following Jesus, but do our lives reflect that truth? From the outside looking in, would someone be able to tell we’re Christians? How often do we joyfully engage in things God has told us to avoid?
Today, pray and ask the Lord if there are any areas in your life where you have become friends with the world.

About this Plan
From Genesis to Revelation, “God’s Redemption Story” outlines the narrative of God’s plan for the reconciliation of humanity. This 12-part reading plan summarizes the story of the Bible. After the gospels, the New Testament's focus becomes the formation of the Church, its mission, and its implications in our lives.
