God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 2)Sample
1 & 2 Peter – Day 4
Do you struggle to believe Peter when he writes that suffering is a blessing? This concept is counterintuitive to many of our American ideals. In a nation where comfort and security are two of our biggest idols, the idea of suffering being positive is hard to wrap our minds around.
Although there is much growth to be found in difficult situations, the biggest blessing that suffering can bring is a closer relationship with Christ. He endured Greater suffering than we can fully comprehend. When we suffer, we are given the opportunity to connect with Him in a deep and meaningful way. Is greater intimacy with Christ not worth whatever temporary suffering we may be enduring?
Today, challenge yourself to thank the Lord for the blessing of the trials in your life and their ability to deepen your relationship with Jesus.
