God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 2)Sample
1 & 2 Peter – Day 1
Hope is a powerful word that’s often used in weak ways. We say, “My hope is in Jesus,” yet we also say things like, “I hope my team wins the game,” or “I hope this cake doesn’t burn.”
When Peter writes about our Living Hope, he is referring to a Hope that is both lived out by those who hold it and represented by the Living One in whom we place our hope. When we embrace the Gift of Living Hope, we aren’t sitting by and crossing our metaphorical fingers, waiting to see if God’s Promises will prove true.
Our hope isn’t hollow or baseless. It’s a sure and steadfast Hope that leads us to action. It is a Hope that should grow stronger daily as we walk out our faith in Jesus Christ. Most importantly, it is a Hope that is manifested in the Presence of our Living God.
