God With Us

DAY 5 OF 5

Emmanuel – God With Us Forever

Christmas is an invitation to join God’s family and to share His love with those around us.

Christmas isn’t just a historical event; it’s an ongoing invitation from God to join His family. Matthew 1:23 declares Jesus as “Immanuel, which means God with us.” Jesus was born to bring us into God’s community and to assure us that we never have to be alone. God’s plan wasn’t just to come for a moment but to make His presence a forever promise through Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

When we look at the nativity story, we see that Jesus wasn’t born in isolation; He was born into a family, visited by shepherds, and worshiped by wise men. His arrival was filled with community and connection. This story reminds us that God values relationships and that He wants to bring us into a family—a community where His love is shared and celebrated.

This Christmas, let’s embrace the gift of Emmanuel. We are part of God’s family, and we’re invited to carry His love to others. God’s “with us” is a promise for today, tomorrow, and forever. As you gather with loved ones or reach out to those who may be alone, remember that Christmas is the story of God making His home with us, so we can live in His love every day.

Prayer: Celebrate “God with us” by reaching out to someone this season who needs community. Invite them to share in the joy of Jesus’s presence, and thank God for His eternal promise to be with you always.

Day 4

About this Plan

God With Us

This five-day devotional, "God With Us," reflects on the miracle of Jesus’ birth as Emmanuel—God with us. Each day focuses on a different theme: the gift of God’s presence, Jesus’ humanity and divinity, his love for us, his understanding of our struggles, and the joy of belonging to God’s family. Celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and the promise of Christ’s enduring presence with us.
