Now Is The Time: Acts Children's JourneySample
Day 3
Talk to God
“God, thank You that I can be sure You will always keep Your promises.”
Read the Bible
Acts 2:1-15
When reading these verses today, remember Jesus’ words. Who did God promise to send?
Can you make the sound of wind? It swishes and hisses when it blows. This is the sound the disciples who were together in Jerusalem heard one day. God had sent the promised Holy Spirit to them because God keeps His promises. Small flames of fire came and rested for a while over the heads of the disciples. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit.
Think About It
God sent the Holy Spirit to guide, and to give power to all the people who would be witnesses for Jesus. If the Holy Spirit lives in you, He will help and guide you. He will give you power to tell others about Jesus.
A miracle happened! The disciples began to speak in different languages. People visiting the city from different places were able to hear about Jesus in their own language. Peter, one of the disciples, preached to the crowd of people. The Holy Spirit caused him to preach with great power. That day about 3,000 people believed in Jesus.
Witness—a person who tells what they saw or know.
Do Something About It
- God always keeps His promises. He promises to help you. Write down two things that you need God to help you with today.
- Talk to God in prayer and ask Him to help you with those problems.
- Don’t forget that you have the power of the Holy Spirit in you to tell others about Jesus.
If you want, you can read Acts 2:41-47. You will discover how the first Christians lived.
