Now Is The Time: Acts Children's Journey

DAY 27 OF 30

Day 27

Talk to God

“Lord, I want everyone to know You! Please help me to be patient with those who have not yet believed in Jesus.”

Read the Bible

Acts 26:1-32

Paul is given the opportunity to defend himself in front of a king, a governor and a room full of government officials. What did he say?

King Agrippa was considered to be an expert on the Jewish religion. He knew what was written about the Messiah. He knew about Jesus. But knowing the good news about Jesus is not what saves from sin. It is necessary to believe that good news. Paul asked King Agrippa, “Do you believe?” (verse 27).

Think About It

Not everyone who hears the gospel believes. But we still need to tell them! Paul’s life was committed to telling that truth. He shared the gospel with Jews and Gentiles and powerful people like Governor Festus and King Agrippa. Paul wanted everyone to know the truth. God wants everyone to know the truth, too. The Bible says, “God is patient, because He wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost” (2 Peter 3:9b).

Even after Governor Festus told Paul he was crazy, and King Agrippa refused to believe, Paul was patient. He didn’t get upset. Paul answered, “Whether it takes a short time or a long time, I wish you and everyone else who hears me today would become just like me! Except, of course, for these chains” (verse 29). Paul was patient with people as he shared the gospel with them. That’s a good example to follow! Be patient with those who have not yet believed in Jesus.

Patient—Able to wait without becoming annoyed or anxious.

Do Something About It

Is there someone you have told about Jesus who has not yet believed? Be patient! As you wait for the next opportunity to share the gospel with them, pray!

  • Thank God that He is patient.
  • Ask God to help you not to be annoyed or anxious.
  • Pray that God will work in that person’s heart—helping them to see that they need to believe in Jesus.
