“God, I praise You for being the one true and living God.”

Acts 17:16-34

Join Paul in his amazing journey to Athens as he reveals to us the one true God.

While Paul was in Athens he was very troubled that the city was full of idols. Idols are man-made objects that are worshiped. People from Athens worshiped all sorts of objects and gods and even had a place to worship an unknown god. Paul boldly explained that this unknown god was the one true God that is worthy of all praise because He had created everything and had changed his life. He shared that God is greater than gold or silver or any other objects they worshiped.

Think About It

God desires that we would turn away from our sin, so that we can truly know, love, and worship Him. Remember that God is the one who created everything—even you! There is nothing that God does not know about your life. You can worship God right now for things He has done in this world and in your life. You can worship the one true and living God!

Do Something About It

• Think about all the things that God has done that remind you of His greatness. Make a list or draw a picture of those things.
• Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you to know, love, and worship the one true God and give you the boldness to tell others about Him.
• Use every opportunity to praise God! You can praise Him by learning this verse and including it in your prayers of praise, often.
