Arise & Shine

DAY 6 OF 8

Hidden Treasure

Every human being, whether male or female, brown, black, or white, possesses a desire to discover his or her uniqueness. We long to uncover the identifier that makes us different from everyone else in the world—the specific thing for which we were born to achieve. Oftentimes, we ponder these silent, internal questions: Why am I here? What is the purpose of my life? Why do I have to experience negative things? Am I ever going to make a difference? Was I born to lead a life of mediocrity? Why am I not further along? When will it be my time? We all have a natural hunger to be fulfilled. Yet, we must understand that there is a distinct difference between being successful and being fulfilled. We can be successful in reaching all of our personal goals and still not be fulfilled. We can have the career, the house, the car, the children, the dog, feed the hungry on Saturday, and go to church on Sunday, and still not be fulfilled. While unimaginable, even Christians have become so overtaken with “church work” that we remain unfulfilled because we have no idea what our spiritual gift is, and therefore, cannot carry out the reason for being alive. Some people approach this inner craving from a humanistic standpoint, instead of a spiritual one. They purchase self-help books, seek out motivational speakers, and talk to psychologists. However, at this crossroads, we must all return to the source. God knows! He knows our name, and He has numbered the hairs on our head. God certainly knows the treasure that He has invested in us. It is God who created us, and it is God who reveals our spiritual gifts and purpose for lives.

About this Plan

Arise & Shine

This 8-day devotional is taken from a printed book collection 90-day devotional. Arise & Shine is not about fluff, but presents real-life situations and challenges and motivates us to work through them to become better for the Kingdom. The enemy wants to render us stagnate. If he can’t turn us away from God, he desires to keep us wavering in our faith, dwelling on the same negative thoughts, and responding to difficulty in the same manner. But it is high time. It is your time. This is your season to arise and shine for God!
