Hebrews 11-12

Hebrews 11 and 12 are beautiful windows into the magnificent story of God. A story that started before the birth of mankind and will continue beyond the last generation. The characters include kings, prostitutes, prophets, warriors, mothers, martyrs, children and the list goes on. Yet, there is one character that the whole story hinges upon.

The Author.

The One who, from generation to generation, is weaving dust of the earth, like you and me, into this majestic story by the thread of faith.The Author is not a distant character but has Himself become the dust of the earth so that through this glorious thread of faith, you and I may be eternally attached to Him.

So until then, let us intently focus on Him, who has authored our story and completed our faith that we may lay aside anything that would wear away at this precious thread that joins us into the tapestry He is weaving. And surely, when we meet the Author face to face, we will recognize that He has joined our stories seamlessly into His own...by faith.

Prayer: Father, thank you for saving me and grafting me into Your family. I am honored to be Your child. Thank you for authoring and perfecting my faith. I invite You to have Your way in me and to write Your story through me. Search me and know me, and if there is anything I need to lay aside in order to run this race, reveal it to me. I want my life to reflect Your glory. Amen.
