Wild Life

DAY 7 OF 12

The Beauty

Altitude is powerful. The higher we hike with John, the thinner the air, the faster our hearts pump, and the harder we breathe. Meanwhile, John, 20 years our elder, skips around like a spring lamb. He’s obviously seen a lot more mountains in his day. That’s the other thing about altitude’s power. The higher you climb, the stronger you get, and the more you see. We eventually reach our summit and gain a whole new perspective on the beauty around us. We could see where we’d been and the way forward.

We’re not just talking about beautiful trees, mountainsides, and stunning valleys. Today, we’re on a hike with John to gain new perspective on something more powerful. Beauty, the finale of God’s creation: women.

In the image of God, He created us. Male and female, He formed us. John references Genesis 1:27 when he says, “Gender is partly and deeply how we bear the image of God.” No wonder we look at a woman and lose our breath. Her curves, her lines, her soft skin, they are not only God’s ideas, they are His image on display. Wow.

When God decided to place His image, His signature, on creation, He did it in two parts: male and female. And as you may know, the two were made to come together in an otherworldly fashion.

Yet, so many of us carry hurt, sin, and confusion from our relationships with women. You can likely relate with some of these words: rejection, addiction, miscommunication, cheap sex, separation, divorce, porn, and adultery. We need some altitude on beauty. Let’s gain a new perspective so we can see where we’ve been and find the way forward. It’s worth the climb. After you watch the beginning of episode three and read today’s Scriptures, start answering these questions. What is my experience with women? What has gotten me into trouble with women?

Watch today’s video, and begin considering beauty.
