Our Protection From Evil

Everyone on earth faces temptation.  Temptation is the enemy’s tool for luring one away from God.  The moment someone is born, that person becomes a target of the devil.  It is his pleasure to lure us away from the path of God by way of temptation.  His plans for us are defeat, failure and death.  He works day and night toward that end.  However, God has a plan far better than we can imagine.  God says in Jeremiah 29:11, “for I know the plans I have for you, plans of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

Know that temptation takes place in the mind.  Every thought is followed by a corresponding action.  This is why we are to renew our minds daily and keep our thoughts occupied with Christ and with the things pleasing to Him.  

Studying the Word of God and applying it to our lives are ways to live safe and free from the control of the enemy.  The Word is the foundation that supports us.  It puts to naught the work of the enemy.  By meditating on it, applying it to our lives, speaking it out of our mouths, praying and asking the Holy Spirit to deliver us from temptation, we will solidify the enemy’s defeat.
