Water to Wine: Ordinary to Extraordinary

The shame. The embarrassment. I want to disappear. It’s the third day of the wedding and the wine has run out; how could this have happened? Now, when people remember our special day, they will always think back to the dishonor brought upon our family and how we could not provide for our guests. They won’t focus on the joy of a man and woman becoming husband and wife.

Wait, the master of the wedding ceremony is approaching with a goblet of wine. He asks, “Why did you save the best for last?” But we didn’t, what happened?

Jesus. Jesus happened. Jesus removed the shame and turned jugs of ordinary, everyday water into wine.

This “simple” transformation couldn’t have been done with just food coloring or a quick switch and magic trick, no. This transformation changed the very atomic structure of the water molecules and turned it into something completely different. It completely altered the water into an entirely new element. This is the Power of God.

You see, God’s Power is so great that He can enter our lives and turn the difficult situations upside down and transform them for His good. He can remove the shame and embarrassment and turn testimonies of struggle into reason for celebration of His Goodness and Deliverance.

What is your life looking like now? What is the situation, trauma, or even something small that is just bugging you that needs change, healing, or transformation? What if, instead of asking Jesus to just change little pieces of the situation, you prayed for a water-to-wine transformation? A complete change to the situation on an even molecular level. One that turns it completely upside down, so it is unrecognizable.
