Hey, thanks for clicking in here and taking a minute to step deeper into the best stuff of the Bible.  

Over the next couple weeks, we’re going to pull back the cover on the Bible—seeing if we can find the good stuff inside. We’re going to be looking at a bunch of different topics in the coming weeks, but first we’re going to focus on the Bible itself. 

So let’s start with the facts: the Bible is the best-selling book this year—and basically every year since its first publication. It’s the most translated, most quoted, most contemplated and most influential book of all time. 

But sometimes, just sitting down and actually reading it can be a challenge. It was written over several thousand years, by dozens of authors, pulling in stories from the foundations of our world. But, the more I read the Bible, the more I find my story echoing in here.  

And not because the people here are the most valiant of heroes. Sure, they do some smart stuff occasionally; but more often than not, they do a bunch of dumb stuff even though they know better. But that just leads us to the true hero here. Because, even when these men and women mess up, God continues to reach out to them—offering a way to clean up the messes they make. 

From this big story, the Bible gives us perspective on the junk we face in this life. It tells us that God will give us strength. God is with us. God is for us.
