UncommonSample
“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:13-14
God is inviting us to a life of differentness. Set apart and holy. Allowing God's differentness to make up the fabric of who we are. We should not desire a life set apart to get out of hell. We should imitate God as beloved children, not as a scared group of people running from a tyrant.
The Apostle Paul tells us to be imitators of God because we know His love, not because we fear punishment. The fulcrum of the Good News of the Gospel relies on knowing we are beloved and secure in our adoption through the power of Christ. When this identity is secured, we are called to a life of imitation. We want to be like our Father because we know the goodness of our Father. Our beloved identity should permeate through every part of us, including our relationships with others. The status quo of God has the power to enhance every single relationship.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
- In what ways can you tell you are beloved by God?
- The way you view yourself is going to affect others. How is your identity affecting others right now?
- Ponder how good He is because He loves us. That’s good news. Write your thoughts.

About this Plan
The purpose of this devotional is to take a deeper look into the "uncommon" living for those of us walking with Jesus. We are declared holy through Christ, so how do we walk in that holiness? How can we be set apart and walk out our holiness?
