God's Purposes With IsraelSample
Day 4 - Proclaiming God’s glory
When Israel lives as God intends, the nation proclaims God’s glory. God’s glory becomes visible. In this way, Israel is a light to the heathen nations. Remember Abraham’s calling,
“In you, all the peoples on earth will be blessed.”
The Bible verses you have just read bear witness to this. Israel received the Torah – God’s Word – to allow its light to shine in this creation. As this light pierces the darkness, reaching all the nations of the earth, they will glorify God.
Peter summarizes this in his epistle. He says to his fellow Jews, “Live…good lives among the pagans.” That is how that light will shine and people will see their good deeds and realize that God is behind it all!
Pray for Israel today and for the Jews around the world. Pray that they may be a light for the world in these times as well.

About this Plan
When you read the Bible it is impossible to ignore that Israel had a special place in God’s plan for this world. But what is that plan exactly? What is God’s purpose with Israel? Is the history of this people just a complicated preface to the birth of Jesus Christ and nothing more? Or can we expect more from Israel? Join us in discovering the answers through this reading plan!
