Love God With AllSample
Day 4: Love God With All Your Soul
What is your soul? The human soul is central to who you are as a person. In fact some people say “You don’t have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.” It is distinct from our heart, mind, and spirit. Our souls are created by God, and what Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross saved. Our soul is our whole being.
What are you currently feeding your soul? Our sinful nature lives within the depth of our souls, and is why our souls needed saving to begin with. Therefore, what we put into our souls, and what we devote our souls to will affect our overall well being spiritually.
Jesus saves, purifies, restores, and captures our souls. This is the beginning of life change as a Christ follower, devoting your soul to the mission of God! The mission of God is telling everyone around us who God is and what Jesus did for us. This is why true rest has to be done within your soul, not just for your body, and sleep won’t do the trick there.
We can only find true rest for our soul when we turn to Jesus. This is part of His gift to us! Isn’t it just so cool that we not only serve God, but also have a relationship with Him and He wants us to have rest? We have done nothing to deserve this love from Him, in fact many times we do the exact opposite. Yet, He shows us mercy. The absolute least we can do in return is love Him with our whole being that He created.
Next Steps
Each and every aspect of loving God that we are talking about this week is a potential for growth within our relationship with God. None of us love God perfectly. Take some time and really challenge yourself. Play the song “Springtime” By Chris Renzema and look back at what you wrote down on Day 1 of this study. Take time to thank God that he loves you despite you not being “all in” all the time, and ask Him to help reveal the next steps to you about how you can dive all in in your relationship with Him! Make sure you take time to listen here too! Listening to God is just as important as talking to Him. In fact, it's more important!
About this Plan
We were created to be in a relationship with our Creator. Yet in the world today, it is so easy to get sidetracked and to place someone or something in the high place where God belongs. Why do we do this? How do we stop? We need to refocus and learn to love God WITH ALL we have and all He has created us to be!
