Love God With All

DAY 3 OF 6

Day 3: Love God With All Your Mind

The mind is the center of our being. Our brains tell everything in our body what to do and when for us to function. Our minds also can play a lot of tricks on us, depending on where our focus lies.

Have you ever been in a situation where you need to stay focused on a task? Maybe this is studying for a test, playing a sport, or doing something with art, and all of a sudden you hear a voice in the back of your head saying “You’re not good enough to do this.” Maybe you hear lies that feel so real when you look at yourself in the mirror.

This is why loving God with our minds is so important! Just like our hearts are deceitful, so are our minds! When God isn’t at the center of our focus, our minds can play all sorts of tricks on us to keep us from doing what God has planned for us. One of the most popular tactics of the enemy is to distract us from all that God is calling us to do or be; mind games are one of the many ways this distraction has the potential of winning if you don’t know how to combat it!

To love God with our minds is to think about Him often and with reverence and adoration. No relationship starts well if you don’t make an effort to get to know the other person. To truly love God, you have to truly know Him because, as we will read today, God IS love. Apart from Him, we can’t truly love Him or one another.

Next Steps

The best way to combat lies is with truth. To have a relationship with God, we have to know Who He is, and one of the biggest ways we do that is by reading and memorizing Scripture. Pick one of the verses we have read already this week or that we are reading today to memorize. When we commit Scripture to memory, it places God and His Word at the forefront of our minds and gives us the strength to combat the enemy. If Jesus used Scripture in the face of temptation and He was perfect, how much more should we memorize and utilize Scripture?

About this Plan

Love God With All

We were created to be in a relationship with our Creator. Yet in the world today, it is so easy to get sidetracked and to place someone or something in the high place where God belongs. Why do we do this? How do we stop? We need to refocus and learn to love God WITH ALL we have and all He has created us to be!
