Building Rock Solid FaithSample

Jesus—The Rock
A quarry is a place where rock is cut from the ground to use in buildings. Many times, buildings have a cornerstone, a strong block of stone on the edge of the foundation. The Bible refers to Jesus as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). Only He can provide a stable foundation for our lives. We build on this firm support by reading the Bible, memorizing Scripture, praying and spending time with other believers. If we skip these construction steps, our spiritual house is weaker.
As Christians, we should be like a “chip off the Rock.” Isaiah 51:1 encourages us to do what is right and to seek the Lord: “Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn.” First Corinthians 10:4 says, “that rock was Christ.”
Standing on the foundation of Jesus Christ doesn’t mean we aren’t going to have problems. But we can face anything that happens with confidence because we are anchored on a solid rock foundation. As Psalm 40:2 says, God set our feet on a rock.
