Truth Pursuer: Rock Solid FaithSample

Permanence of Rock
Not only is rock strong and stable, but it lasts. God wrote the Ten Commandments on stone slabs so His words would be a constant reminder for His people. Even after Moses broke them because of the Israelites disobedience, God’s people carried the Ten Commandments around in an ark. Jesus renamed the disciple Simon, calling him Peter, or Petra, which means rock. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus said, “you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church.”

About this Plan

Building your spiritual life is similar to constructing a skyscraper. In Matthew 7:24-25, Jesus said people who hear His words and put them into practice are like a wise man who builds his house on the rock. Unless we have a foundation anchored on Jesus Christ, the Solid Rock, we’re likely to fall apart when life challenges us with unexpected events and everyday pressures.
