Two Kingdoms - Part 4Sample

Ask, seek, and knock. Today, we are reminded that the kingdom of God is close to all that look for it! "For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." There are some amazing promises here for all who are actively pursuing kingdom living. It requires action on our part, and it's so important to remember just how loving our Father in heaven is. ..."how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!". Ask, seek, knock, and expect good things from the Father today.

GO DEEP

The promises in these verses are for everybody. Perhaps you don't feel worthy of receiving all God has for you. The good news is that it doesn't depend on you! Just as a good parent gives to their children what they need, so the Father cares for you. If you ask for bread, He's not going to give you a stone. He knows what you need, and He loves when you come to Him with an expectant heart. What will you ask for today? What are you seeking? Knock, and the door will be opened to you.

BE BOLD

The last verse today is very well known. Perhaps this message of doing to others what you would have them do to you is one of the core messages of Christianity. Loving your neighbour as yourself is fundamental to kingdom living. Let's put it into practise: take a moment today to think about something you would love somebody to do for you. Then, go and do that for somebody else!
