DAY 34 OF 42

Stephen Murdered for His Faith in Jesus

Listen to "Stephen Murdered for His Faith in Jesus":

Reflect

The life of the church can be filled with many challenges, just like what the church in Jerusalem experienced. Look at how God helped resolve each of their trials. He gave wisdom for each situation. When complaints arose about unfair distribution of food, leaders were delegated to oversee that ministry. Religious leaders opposed Stephen, but God gave him the wisdom to answer them. While Stephen was being stoned, he asked the Lord to forgive his persecutors just as Jesus did. Faith and forgiveness overcame evil. And when the Christians fled to other cities, it seemed their persecutors won a victory. Yet, God turned even that into good. Everywhere the believers went, they shared the good news about Jesus!

● Do you know of a people group or family that must deal with persecution on a regular basis? Spend time praying for them.

Lord, give me wisdom for every situation that arises and help me to share the good news about Jesus wherever I go.

About this Plan

The Promise

Experience a different way of interacting with God’s Word. Deepen your intimacy with God by listening to an oral Bible story each day. Then allow His Word to transform you by reflecting on a short devotional. Grab a journal to record what you notice in the story and what God is saying to you through His Word.
