Religious Leaders Threaten Peter and John
Listen to "Religious Leaders Threaten Peter and John":
Reflect
Can you think of an experience you’ve had that stirred your heart so much that you had to share it? It could have been one of your favorite shows, an amazing piece of art, a kaleidoscopic landscape or a beautiful song you heard. It is only natural for us to want to share those experiences with one another. But are we experiencing Jesus like this?
Peter and John had seen a lot up to this point in their ministry as God had been working mightily among them: healing the sick, casting out demons and performing many other miracles. In fact, as the religious leaders pointed out, they had been with Jesus himself! No wonder they were telling people about the things they had seen and heard!
You may not have witnessed a demon cast out or a sick person healed like Peter and John did, but this shouldn’t limit our experience of God. Like both of these men, our experiences with God should shape our interactions, conversations and relationships with others. We were meant to not only experience God but share Him with other people.
● Ask God to open your eyes and ears to see, hear, and experience Him in His Word and in your life.
● What are some experiences you have had with God that stir your affections for Him? Who is a person in your life you can tell this experience to?
