Peace Or War
Just because Jesus brings peace (shalom) to our hearts, it does not mean everyone will agree about who He is. Even in His own day John reports there was sharp disagreement. Is He the Messiah? A prophet? Elijah reincarnated? Mary’s son? An angel appearing like a man? Only later in his Gospel does John tell us he writes so that ‘you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God …’ (John 20:31).
Prayer: Dear Lord, today I’m so thankful for your Word, clearly pointing the way to the truth of salvation. Jesus is indeed the Son of God, who submitted His life to bring us back to God. Though there are people who have false knowledge about Jesus, we confess that He is our only saviour. He is Lord of all. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
