Do you think you could pour a bowl of cereal using only your feet? How about writing your name with a pencil using only your mouth? It’s really hard to do basic everyday tasks using a part of the body that wasn’t made to do that action.

Each part of the body has a purpose. It’s designed by God especially to play its part. Our eyes are made to see. Our mouth is made to speak, eat and breathe. Our hands are made to hold things, write and make things. When we try to do something using a different part of the body, making it do something it wasn’t made to do, it’s hard to do…and usually messy!

We are like parts of a body. We each have a special function, something God has designed us to do. He has given each of us different gifts. These might be gifts like leadership, singing, building, cooking, organising, praying, preaching or even saxophone playing!

There are certain things you can do well because God has made you that way. God wants to work through each of us. When we allow God to use us, we are like a body with all parts fulfilling their purpose. We’re better together!
