No matter what kinds of trials we face and struggles life brings our way, the Bible tells us we can find rest in God, knowing He is merciful and ready to forgive. He understands our struggles and is only a prayer away.
As you lie down tonight, close your eyes and breathe in and out slowly. Clear your mind by focusing your thoughts on God. Remember who He is – your Savior who loves you, pursues you, and rescues you. He knows the weight of what you are carrying from today, and He is ready to lift your burdens.
God's Word makes it clear: Nothing can separate us from Him – not our sin, not the brokenness in our world, not the troubles the enemy brings upon us. Know God is always here to rescue, to help, and to heal. As you read today's Scripture, make these words your own; know that He hears you and accepts your prayer.
Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am faint;
heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.
My soul is in deep anguish.
How long, LORD, how long?
Turn, LORD, and deliver me;
save me because of Your unfailing love...
I am worn out from my groaning.
All night long I flood my bed with weeping
and drench my couch with tears.
My eyes grow weak with sorrow;
they fail because of all my foes.
Away from me, all you who do evil,
for the LORD has heard my weeping.
The LORD has heard my cry for mercy;
the LORD accepts my prayer.
PSALM 6:2-4, 6-9
ADORATION: Allow yourself to find comfort in His Word, which brings nourishment to your bones and peace to anxious hearts. Turn to the Lord and bask in His presence. Allow His mercy and love to wash over you. Know His mercy and grace are sufficient for you. His power is made perfect in your weakness. You have nothing to fear. Take a moment to worship God for His unfailing love and compassion, and feel the peace He gives for your mind and your soul.
CONFESSION: Reflect on your circumstances to see what is troubling you today. If there is something you have said or done that led to your troubles? Ask for God's forgiveness and mercy. He is here to forgive you and redeem you, not to punish you or forsake you. Confess any shame you are holding on to and allow God to fill you with hope and love.
THANKSGIVING: Think about the times God has shown you kindness and compassion. Thank Him for His mercy and grace. Thank Him for the times He has healed you or delivered you from troubling circumstances. Praise Him for His faithfulness to redeem and restore your life.
SUPPLICATION: Lord, l cast all my cares on You right now and look to You for help through the troubles of my heart. Have mercy on me and help me to walk in Your grace. Bless my heart and mind with Your peace for sound rest through this night. Refresh my soul and lead me in a way that keeps me close to You in all that I do. In Your sweet name, I pray. Amen.
