Faith on Fire

DAY 4 OF 14

Key Verse: Hebrews 4:10-11a (NLT) “For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest.”

Devotional: In today’s culture of stiving for success, it is hard to rest. People tend to wear busyness and caffeine-fueled accomplishment as a badge of honor. God does not frown upon hard work; as a matter of fact, He encourages it! However, He does remind us of the need to rest. His design for us to work is always accompanied by His desire for us to rest.

As believers, our work is not just of this world. We are also called to kingdom work. Because of that, we have the hope of a kingdom rest when we enter into heaven. In the same way we work diligently to take care of our business before a vacation or a student taking their exams before summer break, we should bring diligence and passion to what God has called us to accomplish while looking forward to heaven’s rest.

About this Plan

Faith on Fire

Our faith is meant to be consistent. It's meant to be passion-filled. It's meant to be on fire! This reading plan is designed to take you through the book of Hebrews to discover the Lordship of Christ and the consistency of God to rescue, redeem, and provide for His children. Those themes are seen in each chapter of Hebrews, with a reflective chapter from Psalms to compliment the reading.
