Faith on FireSample

Key Verse: Hebrews 1:2-3 (NLT) “And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.”
Devotional: The book of Hebrews begins by outlining the Lordship of Jesus, calling back to several verses in Psalms as prophecy fulfilled. For generations, people looked for the coming Messiah, and the writer of Hebrews begins by establishing that Jesus is that prophecy fulfilled.
Jewish culture revered the first born son of a father to be chosen by God, holding a place of privilege. By establishing that Jesus is the first born son, Jewish Christians knew that He held a place of honor above any man or angel. It also reminds us that as children of God, we are co-heirs in His salvation! Jesus is the foundation of our faith, and in knowing Him as the Son of God, we can become children of God as well.
About this Plan

Our faith is meant to be consistent. It's meant to be passion-filled. It's meant to be on fire! This reading plan is designed to take you through the book of Hebrews to discover the Lordship of Christ and the consistency of God to rescue, redeem, and provide for His children. Those themes are seen in each chapter of Hebrews, with a reflective chapter from Psalms to compliment the reading.
