THE WEED OF REGRET: RELATIONSHIP OVER RULES

For believers, regret can be particularly dangerous, as it opens the door to fear, doubt, and pride. These negative emotions can allow the enemy to gain a foothold in our lives. God does not want us to live in uncertainty or worry, but rather to embrace the freedom that comes from having faith in Jesus.

When we walk by faith alone, we remove the opportunity for regret to take hold of us. True faith pleases God, and when we believe that He is with us, for us, and has truly set us free, we can still be happy even if things do not turn out the way we expected. Our faith tells us that everything is working together for our good, so we have no reason to regret our actions or doubt our decisions because we are acting in obedience and with the sole purpose of pleasing God and no other motive but to obey and please God.

SOUL PRAYER:

Dear God,

I am grateful for the measure of faith that Jesus Christ has given me. I pray that every decision I make will be based on faith and not doubt. I choose to believe in who you are and what Jesus has done for me. I will not doubt that you are on my side, and I will be certain of the person you have called me to be.

I will listen for your voice in faith and act on it so that I will not be haunted by regret.

1. How can I ensure that my personal beliefs and convictions are not a stumbling block to others who may have different perspectives?
2. Am I allowing my personal preferences and convictions to become a hindrance to my relationship with God or with others?
3. How can I make sure that my actions and decisions are in alignment with my faith and the teachings of Christ, even when they may not align with the opinions of those around me?
