A Child's Guide To: Being Thankful for JesusSample
High Hopes
I pray that God, who gives hope, will bless you with complete happiness and peace because of your faith. And may the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope.
Romans 15:13 (CEV)
What are you hoping for? Maybe you want your parent to come home. Maybe you want your grandparents to visit. Maybe you want pizza for supper! (With extra pepperoni, please!)
All of those things are good and it’s normal to want them. But there are bigger things in life we can hope for. Today’s Bible verse talks about putting our hope in God for salvation. That’s a big word that means God can save us. But what is he saving us from?
God created all humans, but, sadly, we chose to do wrong things, sometimes called sins.
When God sent his son Jesus to save us from our sins, he gave us hope that we can live with him in heaven!
How do you get that hope? Just pray to Jesus. Admit that you do bad things sometimes and ask him to forgive you and help you do better. He will do it! Then you can smile knowing you have a hope that will last forever!
HERO TRAINING
The greatest hope we have is in Jesus Christ and his great love for us. Draw and color in a heart. As you do, think of God’s love and thank him for loving you and saving you.
GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD
Some cicadas live underground for 17 years before they can come out as full-grown insects. That’s a long time to hope to see the sunshine!
