A Child's Guide To: Being Thankful for JesusSample
Fresh and Clean
So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved grace, and we will find help.
Hebrews 4:16 (CEV)
What is prayer? Prayer is talking with God. Did you know God wants to talk to you? He does! All the time! How cool is that?
Sadly, we don’t always talk to him enough. Sometimes, we want to do our own thing and don’t want to listen to him. But doing our own thing gets us into big trouble.
Have you ever seen a stinky, dirty dog? Maybe he wants to be with you, but you can’t stand the smell. He has to be cleaned up, but he can’t do that by himself. We are like that dog when we do bad things—stinky and dirty and helpless to clean ourselves up! But when we say we’re sorry for what we’ve done wrong, God cleans us up. He loves us and forgives us of our wrongdoing so we can be with him again.
If God, through Jesus, will help us with that, then God must really love us and really want to be with us. That means we can pray to God for help with anything. That’s an amazing love!
HERO TRAINING
The next time you take a bath, thank God for helping you get clean when you do wrong. Ask him to help you be more like him.
GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD
Snow monkeys in Japan like to take long baths in the hot springs (They need to be cleaned up, too!)
