ExodusSample
This chapter highlights the importance of God's provision of skills and talents for His people to use in service to Him. Bezalel and Oholiab were filled with the Spirit of God, and their craftsmanship was used for the glory of God and the building of the tabernacle, which would serve as a place of worship and communion with Him. Today in the church, we see a similar concept of God's gifting of skills and talents for His people to create. Jesus spoke how each person has been given different abilities, and it is our responsibility to use them wisely for the benefit of God's kingdom.
We also see in this chapter that the law of keeping the Sabbath is given to the Israelites as a reminder of God's rest after creating the world in six days. The Sabbath was a day of rest, worship, and celebration of God's goodness and provision. It was a holy day set apart from the other six days of work and was to be observed as a sign of the covenant between God and His people.
What can we learn from this story about the value of using our skills and abilities for the glory of God? What does the law of keeping the Sabbath mean to you today as a follower of Jesus Christ?
