This week’s readings start by introducing what Yahweh requires the Israelites to build. The Tabernacle was to be a place where the presence of God dwelt amongst the people. Inside it was to have holy furnishings – the Ark of the Covenant, the Table, and the Lampstand.
In the chapter from last week, the Lord had confirmed the covenant with the people. Wherever they went, the Lord’s presence was to go with them and be honored. With the new covenant, God’s Spirit has been poured out on humanity, we too can carry the presence of God wherever we go.
About this Plan
From muddy ocean floors and sea walls, to manna from heaven, and water from rock. This plan follows the story of the Exodus, when God is revealed as Yahweh. This 8-week plan has a theme of the Exodus narrative each week as well as two memory passages to focus on.
